The History:

Several years ago during a Disciples In Mission facilitator meeting, it was suggested that the parish community of St. Thérèse of Carmel would greatly benefit from a website that could be used as a communication tool for its ministries.  Fr. Nick supported the idea and started the ball rolling…It took a long, long time to get the ball to the end zone!

The Mission:

The mission of the St. Thérèse parish website is to use technology to know, love and serve God. To accomplish this mission, the website will:

  • Enhance communication between church ministries, parishioners, and the community, uniting all in serving the Lord.
  • Provide up-to-date information, enhancing ministry participation.
  • Address the various needs of the church and its ministries.
  • Offer wide resources about our faith in one easily accessible location.
  • Serve as a venue for the community to learn about St. Thérèse of Carmel.

The Thank Yous:

/files/Web/Entrance.jpgWe recognize and thank Jay Shrake for single-handedly starting and maintaining the website for our church years ago.  Jay remains essential to the website.
We also recognize and thank Mira Saad for creating the site’s design concept. Mira is a member of St. Ephrem Maronite Catholic Church in El Cajon. She has a degree in graphic design.  A great example of “love and serve God”, Mira volunteered to help us merely because she was asked.  If you are in need of a winning graphic designer, contact Mira at mira.saad@gmail.com.

We also recognize Mark Frapwell, a master photographer and parishioner, who donated his professional abilities to capture St. Thérèse of Carmel in beautiful pictures. Available for weddings, family portraits, commercial and corporate photography, just click http://www.markfrapwell.com/ to check out his site. We also enhanced our look with some beautiful pictures from "Images by Giselle" who focuses on photographing families and weddings. Giselle's goal is to take the ordinary and make it into a work of art. You can visit her website at www.imagesbygeselle.com.

The Team:/files/Web/Bells 5442High.jpg

The making of this website was a demanding and complex endeavor. A team of volunteers came together to build the site, and then carried it forward until it merely needs to be maintained. This team includes Ben Moore, Cort Peters, James Stephan, Jay Shrake, John Carney, Leslie and Howard Sachs,  Mira Saad, Patricia AltobellPaula Salinas, Stephanie Bond, Susan Kay, Mary Ann Fernandes and Lisa James. The newest to our team are Matt Hillerud and Michelle Thompson. We are also helped and guided by our Deacon John  Fanelle.

Our team is growing as more people come forward as consultants to help in this undertaking. Also, several representatives from within St. Thérèse of Carmel’s ministries have already stepped up and offered to maintain and service their own ministry web pages. We thank you, too.
