KIDS KORPS CHAPTER NEWS!

Dear Members,

It is hard to believe yet another year has flown by!!!  We apologize for being out of touch the last couple of months but it's been a busy time of year for everyone - - especially for your leaders who moonlight as both full-time moms and employees!

Please mark your calendars for Sunday, June 13 after 10:00 mass to meet to discuss available summer activities, plans for next year (including suggestions for our chapter) and to make pet toys from our leftover blanket scraps.  We plan on donating the toys to local animal shelters.  Plus, it's a fun activity for the kids.  We will meet in our usual rooms downstairs on the NDA campus.

Please also plan on bringing one or two items to the meeting donate to either Bannister House or Herrick House.  Some items requested by Bannister House are:  Laundry Soap, Grocery store gift cards, International phone cards, Tooth brushes/paste and dental floss, Taxi vouchers and DVD's.  Some Herrick House suggestions are:  gently used children's books and/or DVD's, outerwear (children's sweat shirts and jackets), good condition toys.

Also, please always remember Bread of Life when cleaning out your closets.  They are in constant need of small toiletries, outerwear (men's especially), and other warm clothing items.

Finally, we have June 13 open for Bread of Life (same day as meeting) if anyone is interested.  Also, we have a spot available for a family to serve at Bannister House with the Friscia family on June 20.  This is a good opportunity as Mr. Friscia is a chef and the food will be 100% covered - just show up and serve!

As always, please be sure to take a look at the Kids Korps website for service opportunities to do on your own.  There are many end-of-the-year activities currently underway so review the project calendar at your leisure on the Kids Korps website.

Also, there are Kids Korps summer camp sign-ups going on right now as well.  They are wonderful camps and a truly meaningful week for your children.

Please RSVP re the June 13 meeting so we can get an idea for supplies.  See you all soon!
